This is Katie - I used to live a few blocks from your mom's house in Phoenix...Christina forwarded an e-mail that had your blog on it...WOW! You look beautiful and your children are precious! Congrats! Just wanted to take a moment to say hi. My hubby & I live in Tacoma, WA these days...no babies yet, just a maniac dog that acts like a child! Hope all is well,
Xandi! Holy cow, these pictures are beautiful. I feel like it's been a long time since we've seen you guys - we need to get together soon. It's interesting that you just posted about growing up in 2 different worlds because I was just telling my in-laws about growing up the same way. I guess I never realized that you and Dan had such a similar childhood as mine. The structure, chores, and penny-pinching at my mom's house and the all-day pool parties, allowance, and ice cream every night at my dad's. I think you're right, though - in hindsight I'm grateful for the contrast.
We have been happily married for 10 years now (together 12). March 18, 2000.
Tatum Riley-6 years old
Loves coloring (especially arts and crafts and designing outfits on paper..she does a really good job at it surprisingly), learning how to read and do math problems, riding her bike without training wheels, sharing snacks with her friends on the bus, Girl Scouts (Daisies), playing Barbies/dress-up, cooking with mom, wearing dresses (although she doesn't get to all of the time), wearing make-up (again, not allowed to leave the house with it on), having playdates with her new friends and last, but definitely not least, she is now my walking/talking informercial. She tries to sell me on everthing from the toothpaste gadget to the snuggie (which she's getting for Christmas or her birthday by the way).
Corbin Lee-4 years old
Loves riding his bike, going to the same school as his sister, playing with his best buddies, Ben and Cydnie, playing the wii/leapster/computer games, remote control cars, playing with his cars, driving the battery powered cars, still loves flashlights/money/change, eating chips and getting out and about (he gets bored very easily unlike his sister).
