There is a belief that searching at midnight central time which is 1am EST, 12am CT, 11 MT, 10 PST that you can always get a win within your first few searches. (I do "every" time) Also if you search and don't win wait a few minutes before searching again just to be sure it doesn't seem you are trying to win. They say that it's search AND win, not search TO win. The best way to win it seems is to search a few times in the morning and a few in the afternoon and a few in the evening and you'll get at least one within those times. In other words do do constant searches, it doesn't work that way. Don't give up, some days are better than others.

Get the Swidget. - The swidget is a way to check for swag codes. Sometimes the swidget gives the actual code and other times TSG gives clues of where to find the code. Codes look something like this SwagBucksIsAwesome2010 (just an example) usually you can copy and paste the code and make sure you have no spaces before or after and that you enter it exactly as you see it. Codes change every 20 seconds so make sure you enter it quick (it changes to keep people from cheating and giving others the code).

This is legit.  I've heard this from several people.  For every 450 points, that's equivalent to about $5.  I'm at 109 and just started yesterday, so I have long ways to go..but I'm not doing anything different than I normally would do, so why not.
